What a week!

So this week we (that’s the royal we) didn’t have time to sit down!
It’s been crazy mad!!

I had to proceed to Derby throught the aftermath of the flooding, so, thinking the worst was over, off I trot…
Ok, so now I’m shooting down the M1 (This is THE best journey I have ever had on the M1, nobody on it!) – Big Sign – M1 Closed, detour… blah blah blah.
Marvellous – feelings of joy rapidly ebbing from my very soul.
Bugger :(
So I join the back of the queue at Barnsley A61 heading into Sheffield (Yes I had listenend to the radio, Sheffield is now ground zero)
Cut a long story etc… 4 hours later  I arrive at my clients. 2 hour job, 2 1/2 hour trip home.
6 1/2 hours of my life wasted :?:

Failure

I have just failed :(
I tried to go see a client, down in Derby (about 80 miles south of here)
But the weather decided it wasn’t to be :(
Here in God’s own county (Yorkshire) – We are expected to have a months worth of rain TODAY!
It’s mental out there; visibility reduced to about 10 metres! (people still travelling at 70+ though  )

So I got to the M62/M1 junction doing about 40mph; couldn’t see; turned round. Gave up! :?:

Who says global warming doesn’t exist?

Upgrades

There has been another upgrade to WordPress – lets hope they’ve fixed things…
(they appear to have fixed the spell checker  )

Rush rush rush

‘T’was a bit crazy today – I had a meeting about a website, which actually consisted 3 separate meetings!

1st was a meeting simply to clarify a clients procedure and formulate a plan to take things forward.
A solicitor who is not conforming to the Data Protection Act? From within our own sphere of influence this, sadly, is not unusual

2nd we discussed a clients own internal network - problems running Sage and their own internal database slowly.
Currently – no idea!

3rd we discussed a large website we are creating – lots to consider :)

The meeting(s) took AGES!

Then we jetted over to Bingley to configure a client’s home network to dial in to their office.
Remote desktop is fantastic! Now she can sit in her garden and work!
Perfect for those summer, “I wish I was at home in the garden” moments ;)

Good but stressful day
