Yesterday’s issues with the virus protection were NOT my fault!!!
The license file used to unlock the software was corrupt!
Get the right version and all is well!

Vista caused me an issue though – it decided that it didn’t like the remote install – it just ignored the new software!

I hate I.T. companies who SELL, FREE software!!
A client today PAID another company to install antivirus software.
What they got was a free version.
I have the company name and trading standards have been informed :idea:

Once in a while I am so disappointed in myself it’s depressing

Today I tried (in vain) to install the Nod32 Anti Virus package on to a clients server – a job done COUNTLESS times before.
This time the stupid Remote Access bit of the software decided that it’d ask me for a password – nothing unusual you might say – except for the small fact THAT NO PASWORD WAS EVER INPUTTED.

Great – ask me for a password I have no idea of!
Especially after going back – uninstalling the damn thing – reinstalling the damn thing following the instructions!#
Still refused to work.
Most techie’s advice stems from the acronym RTFM (Wikipedia RTFM apologies for the language in this article)
Now you know why I feel a failure!

 On a more personal note – I still have my manhood intact, though girlfriendly eyes are starting to shy away from the pile of IT paraphernalia next to the TV – soon eBay might have a certain couple of body parts to sell – I’m not going to need them anymore!!

I survived!!
Yes – my week of isolation has ended
Soon Tor will be back at the reins of the business and I can get on with what I do best – that’s not entertaining the masses, or frequenting the local, well… kinda

The week ended on a high note really, spoke to yesterdays client this morning.
Mysteriously, the mail appears to be working now. Hmm….
A little injection of French je n’sais qua perhaps? (although they might just have opted to fix the blummin mail server :!: )

Jetted off to the warmer climes of Adel mid morning – to see a long stading client about (not a dog) a laptop.
And a printer,
And Office 2007,
And anti virus!
It’s always great seeing Graham – he takes things at a much more friendly pace than that of the panicked masses.
Simple install and configure – coffee and anecdotal chat – ensued.
It’s like a little R&R on a Friday.
AND he gave me a little bottle of Whisky!! :idea:
